Visual Studio(tm) Change Set Transfer

When you are working out of Pair Programming Sessions, sometimes you need to update several Project Items to other(s) Developer(s) and maybe you don't have a Source Control System, you don't want to create a Branch or just you don't want to commit your changes to Project Main Trunk, (between other possible reasons).

wave-vs.net Permits you to create a 'Change Set' Package containing Updated Project Items to be applied on remote Visual Studio(tm) just by Drag-and-Drop Project Items on 'Create Change Set Pacakge' Interface.

This Change Set Package can contain any number of Projet Items from your current open Projects even if they don't exists on remote Project copies. (Non existing Project Items on remote Visual Studios(tm) will be included automatically on same Project Hierarchy point including Folder Structure).

To use this feature you just need to open Contextual Menu for Project or some Project Item and choose 'Create Change Set Package'.

This will open Create Change Set Dialog, where you can begin to Drag-and-Drop Folders and Project Items to Change List Content Area.

As you Drag-and-Drop Project Items you will be inform dynamically about Package Transfer Size.

Last step is choose Contacts you want to Transfer this 'Change Set' Package and click on 'Send Change'.

Processing Change Sets Package considerations
wave-vs.net accept change set package for process When you receive a Change Set Package you can see Package Contents and you will be inform by Interface what Content can be applied or not, (depending on target projects load state).

If Change Set contains Project Items from a Project not currently load in your Visual Studio(tm) you can't apply these changes, however, you can:
  • 1) click on 'Delay Action'
  • 2) Load Associated Project
  • 3) click Again on 'Action-Link', (at Action History Panel)



IMPORTANT: There is no possibility to see incoming Project Item(s) Content , you accept or not the changes, this will overwrite your Project Items content without BACKUP your content first.
